SALiT Magazine is always looking for new and challenging work from people all over who are eager to submit their work . If you have a poem, short story, artwork, etc. please feel free to send the work this way whenever you feel that the work is ready for publication. Trying to stick to the rigid structure of a hard fast deadline for submissions just didn’t seem like a good fit for the magazine. An open door policy seems to work best. To hell with the deadlines! When you are ready, SALiT Magazine is ready. Submitting to us is that simple. SALiT Magazine is a quarterly puiblication, so if you submit work for an upcoming issue that issue has already been finalized and/or already gone to press, your work will simply be pushed to the next issue for consideration.

As far as receiving a response from our end concerning your submissions, we will let you know as soon as possible whether or not your work has been accepted for an upcoming issue. Sometimes it may make take two or three months for a response, so please embrace some level of patience. The best effort is being made to be as fast and as efficient at the post as possible. The magazine is being as elastic as possible with your submissions so cut some slack on the back end when the pile gets high.

A quick note from the editor: Here is a plug of information concerning the rejection letter some of you submitting work might possibly receive. A while back I sent a query letter off to a literary agent  for a novel I had written. The reply took a short while for me to hear back. No problem. I send a lot of submissions out, some take longer to get back than others. I get that. When I did finally receive the response, what had been sent was fantastic in its simplicity and its spur made me laugh. So much so that I have appropriated the cut-to-the-chase brand of response from that agent as the magazines own way of letting people know that they ‘have unfortunately not been accepted for the current issue of SALiT Magazine. And while we enjoyed the opportunity to see your work, it was just not a good fit for the upcoming issue of the magazine. But please keep writing, making your art, creating and submitting.’ So...keep in mind...the above quote is not the hogwash candy flavored flip wthat you will recieve as the magazines rejection notice.
